Gua Sha & Facial Massage Tools
While Gua Sha is the buzzword that popularized facial massage, we are first and foremost dedicated to educating and sharing a full range of facial massage modalities. Cecily began teaching and preaching the benefits of facial massage in 2003, and as a pioneer in the facial massage movement, her passion and dedication is what led her to develop, design and offer a specific range of facial massage tools.
The CJB facial massage tools are designed to support various techniques and complementary modalities that support the skin’s natural function and ability to heal, eliminate wastes, maintain balance and protect. Our approach is science-based, with a deep understanding of the complexities of how the skin functions, and is not limited to nor solely based on the traditions of Gua sha or Traditional Chinese Medicine. We notably separate and/or combine the term “gua sha” with “facial massage” or “facial fusion” since all the tools we design and offer are to support our integrated approach to holistic skincare.

CJB Sourcing: Cecily has formed long-term and close relationships with all our vendors and traveled to work with them in person. Constant and open communication includes topics such as fair trade, worker compensations, sustainability and quality. Since day one, her focus has been on responsible training programs designed to maintain the integrity of traditional techniques and philosophy of international cultures.
We work to keep all our facial massage tools affordable by running an efficient operation on the USA side and DO NOT work to cut costs by sourcing low-quality raw materials or cheap labor. All our tools are hand-carved by skillful masters of the trade. It’s a very difficult job and they are highly compensated.
You may find some of our tools out-of-stock for periods of time while we take care in sourcing the raw materials and not rushing production. There are times of year when the factories are closed due to weather conditions that are not suitable for the workers.
Zero Waste: As part of our quality control, we inspect every stone we produce by hand before it’s packaged and shipped to you. Any stones with variations that fall outside our “quality standard” we set aside as a “misfit” and offer at a discount. It doesn’t mean their unfit for the face, or ineffective—they’re just imperfect. Shop Gua Sha Misfits | Zero Waste.
When we find a stone yields too much waste during the production process, we discontinue and seek alternatives. We work with our partners to re-purpose the remnants and use as decorative beads for aquariums, or various crafts.
Thai Organic Medicinal Herbal Farm: Cecily has been working with Ytsara since 2001 and values their extreme dedication to sourcing and sustainability. She has traveled to the family-owned organic farm in Thailand and talks about her experience extensively during her hands-on workshops.
